About

13. Long description

The Taco Tug is genuinely one of a kind — a restored 1980s U.S. Navy lifeboat turned island adventure boat, and easily one of the most distinctive ways to get on the water in St. Thomas. It's a relaxed, small-group cruise from Crown Bay over to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island, where you can snorkel with sea turtles, then on to the famous Lime Out floating taco bar. There's an open bar aboard — including the captain's own rum — and an easygoing, social vibe throughout. For travelers who want character and a story over polish, nothing else quite compares.

What guests are saying about this trip

Real experiences from guests who’ve explored this trip with us

"Taco Tug was one of the highlights of our time in St. Thomas. Pick‑up and drop‑off were incredibly convenient — just a short walk from the Charlotte Amalie Cruise Port — which made the whole experience smooth and stress‑free." - Lisa W.

"My friends and I had an absolutely wonderful experience on the taco tug! The boat is so comfortable and cute. The captain was extremely friendly and professional as well. We enjoyed tacos at limeout and had the best afternoon on Water Island after! 10/10 recommend if you are looking for an unforgettable and affordable experience on St. Thomas!"- Page C.

"I can't say enough about my experience on the Taco Tug! The stop at Lime Out was everything we hoped it would be and more, but the fun didn't stop there. We also had a blast at the Water Island stop! The weather was perfect for an afternoon of floating after we devoured our weight in tacos. Our captain was a pro- he shared some unique facts about the area and the boat and was a great bartender. We didn't have a full day available for a private charter, so this was the perfect way to see two great VI spots." - Jade D.

"We had an incredible time on the Taco Tug! I enthusiastically recommend! Mason, our captain, was professional and safety oriented but also engaging and fun! The boat itself is spacious and comfortable, and made for an easy ride to Lime Out and Water Island! Would 10/10 recommend!"- Joe S.

"We had a great time on the Taco Tug, going to Honeymoon beach to Dinghy’s Beach Bar, snorkeling with sea turtles, and also getting lunch at Lime Out, the floating taco bar. Such a unique experience! I would definitely do it again if ever back in St Thomas! They also returned us to the port with plenty of time to spare to catch our cruise ship before departure time!"- Brittany N.

"We had a great experience on the Taco Tug Tacos experience. Our host, Mason, was great, had lots of energy snd was fun to be around. He made the experience smooth sailing. We also made some great friends on the boat and had lots of fun hanging out with them. There were soft drinks and beers on board. Tacos were good too *not included. Would recommend!"- Alysha B.

"This is a must if you are staying near crown bay marina! The tour guide was awesome and personable. Lime out was so much fun and something you have to do! We also had no difficulty finding turtles and water island snorkeling and dinghy’s food was excellent as well. There was a quick rain and the bugs got real bad at dinghy’s and so he took us on a bit of a scenic tour to avoid the bugs. Completely worth the money!"- Jamie H.
